December 30, 2008
I hope this post finds you up to your eyes in bead heaven,
with ideas galore bursting forth for your new creations in 2009!
I have been steeped in home repair, travel, and house guests since mid-September,
each a fun adventure, and greatly rewarding.
As I write this post, I am sitting in a lodge home overlooking the Park City, Utah valley.
It's bright, sunny, and the hills are blanketed in snow. The resort is called
"Promontory, and Richard will be performing tonight and tomorrow night in The Ranch Club,
with Marc Beeson, James Dean Hicks, and David Vincent Williams.
We will also be celebrating our tenth New Year's Eve.
We're off on a music cruise with Larry Joe Taylor the 4th of January.
The first week of December we found ourselves in Paris, France. Amazing.
My brother, Rick and his beloved Dee, were wed November 25th, in Phoenix, AZ.
I spent a wonderful week there with my family. A week in Nashville for the CMA
Awards and activities, and a weekend at the farm with Larry Joe and Sherry Taylor,
Keith and Jerene Sykes, and Jed Zimmerman for a Bluebird Cafe appearance, rounded out November.
In October, we had our leaky roof repaired along with the interior drywall,
and the interior of the great room repainted. It was a big job inside. Outside we constructed
a massive 60' x 25'fenced cutting garden, had dead trees and scrub removed from the
farm, and had some great bonfires! It all culminated in a big party to celebrate fall
and show off the cleaned up place. Marc Alan Barnette entertained us all from atop a flat
bed trailer with a backdrop of uplit oaks! It was beautiful!
In the midst of it all I have passed by the studio with longing to get in and make some beads,
knowing that there will sometime soon be a calm in our schedule! I miss it so!!
We'll see if my New Year's resolution to get in the studio becomes a reality!
Wishing you and your's a happy and prosperous New Year!
Cheers!
